Eight photos bridge Oum Kulthum the icon, to the Oum Kulthum of different eras, with two short films that bring the audience closer to an unforgettable Arab figure.
Looking for Oum Kulthum by Shirin Neshat is an exhibition that highlights the grande voice and character of Oum Kulthum; the artist, the political activist and the woman behind the persona.
It naturally takes place within the doors of Azzedine Alaia’s premises, as Oum Kulthum was one of the late designer’s favorite chanteuse.
