Manish Malhotra Couture Fall-Winter 2026-27
For his debut at Paris Haute Couture Week, Manish Malhotra turned toward the most intimate source of creation: the enduring relationship between mother and child. Entitled MAA, his Fall-Winter 2026-27 collection translates personal memory into couture, tracing the journey from protection to independence, and from inherited values to the legacy we create for ourselves.

Structured across four chapters, Cocoon, Bond, Becoming and Abundance, the collection unfolds like a life story. It begins with Cocoon; The Nurturing Heart, where rounded volumes and architectural balloon forms evoke the earliest stages of existence. Enveloping silhouettes surround the body with a sense of shelter, presenting couture not simply as decoration, but as protection: a structure shaped around tenderness.

From this intimacy emerges Bond; The Knots of Life. Silhouettes soften, layers loosen and movement begins to flow. Drapery and sculpted constructions express the invisible connection between mother and child, a bond capable of stretching and evolving without ever disappearing. Strength is balanced with lightness, as Malhotra moves between controlled architecture and fluidity.

In Becoming; Finding My Voice, craftsmanship assumes a central role. India’s artisanal heritage is reinterpreted through a contemporary couture language, bringing together vintage salli embroidery, taban sequins, zardozi, resham, crystals and intricate handwork. Precision tailoring and architectural corsetry meet fluid evening silhouettes, reflecting identity as something shaped by inheritance but ultimately defined through personal expression.

The collection reaches its crescendo with Abundance; In Full Bloom. Monumental gowns and richly embellished surfaces embody the confidence of a woman who has emerged fully into herself. Proportions become increasingly dramatic, while embroidery spreads across the body like memory taking physical form. Strength, grace and resilience, the qualities passed from one generation to another, are transformed into sculptural couture.

Despite its grandeur, MAA remains deeply personal. Blush and rose tones are inspired by Malhotra’s mother, while floral motifs recall her favourite flowers. Jewellery-like embellishments appear as intimate fragments of remembrance, embedded within the garments rather than presented as overt symbols. The emotional narrative is never separated from the craft; every detail carries the trace of a lived memory.

That dialogue extends into Manish Malhotra High Jewellery. Monumental diamonds, rubies, luminous kunzites, vivid rubellites and rare sapphires are composed into sculptural pieces that echo the collection’s celebration of motherhood. Their permanence contrasts with the fragility of memory, turning emotion into objects intended to endure across generations.
