Dior Opened Its Cannes Beauty Hideaway Above the Croisette

Dior Beauty Suite Cannes
At the Cannes Film Festival, beauty was never merely a finishing touch. It was part of the ritual, the quiet, meticulous prelude before flashbulbs, staircases, and the long choreography of the red carpet. For the 79th Cannes International Film Festival, Dior once again transformed its prestigious suite on the sixth floor of the Majestic Hotel into an elegant sanctuary for cinema’s most watched faces.

Over the years, the Dior Suite had become one of the festival’s most coveted behind-the-scenes rendezvous, welcoming House ambassadors such as Natalie Portman, Charlize Theron, Johnny Depp and Robert Pattinson, alongside stars including Camille Cottin, Raphaël Quenard, Mallory Wanecque, Juliette Armanet, Nicole Wallace and Carla Bruni.

That year, the space opened like a Riviera daydream. Dressed in white and sky-blue, the suite borrowed the tones of the Mediterranean below, with hand-drawn stripes unfolding across walls and floors. The design was punctuated by Dior’s Masquerade couture motif, a whimsical nod to film costume design, inspired by Christian Bérard’s illustrations for Monsieur Dior and his love of festive occasions.

From the entrance, the mise-en-scène felt both cinematic and intimate. Wickerwork shells, Monsieur Dior’s handwritten signature and a striped old-fashioned tent created a “room within a room”: a boudoir complete with a vanity table and bench, conceived as much for conversation as for preparation. Further inside, palm tree lamps cast a soft glow over a white sofa and armchairs facing the terrace, where the sea view invited guests to pause before stepping into the festival’s glare.

Across its 350 square metres, the Dior Suite became a full beauty haven for the Cannes fortnight. In a dedicated treatment room, House experts offered massages and flash facial treatments designed to prepare the skin and revive its glow before the red carpet. The setting itself was part of the fantasy, with a decorative mirror illuminated by the iconic Dior cannage motif in neon. Skincare expert and U.S. House Ambassador Sarah Akram, together with Dior Global Wellness Expert Hadda Akrim, brought their expertise to guests, creating a moment of calm before the evening’s intensity.

Makeup, naturally, took center stage. The Dior Backstage PROS, including Norman Pohl, Jamie Coombes, Junior Cedeno, Ricky Wilson and Serby Gil, were joined by international makeup artists including Aurore Gautier, Kristina Vidic, Ruby Mazuel, Khela, Phophie Matthias, Christina Lutz, Carole Hannah and Alexandra Schiavi. Together, they enhanced artists and celebrities using collections created by Peter Philips, Creative and Image Director for Dior Makeup. A nail bar completed the beauty ritual with manicures and nail care using the Dior Vernis line.

For men, Dior Sauvage Grooming Ambassador Brice Tchaga brought his signature approach to beard and hair grooming, a routine designed to cleanse, calm and energize. Hair, meanwhile, received a technological upgrade through Dior’s renewed collaboration with Dyson Beauty. Under the direction of Dyson Ambassador and Cabin Lead Pierre Saint-Sever, the hairstyling team created bespoke looks using Dyson innovations, including the Dyson Supersonic hair dryer.

Beyond the Majestic, Dior extended its festival presence as a long-standing partner of La Terrasse by Albane, installing a hair and makeup room on the rooftop of the JW Marriott. There, film talents and celebrities enjoyed quick makeup sessions before interviews and photo shoots, because in Cannes, even the moments between red carpets deserved their own polish.
