As the 78th Cannes International Film Festival sparkled with cinematic grandeur, Caroline Scheufele once again proved that fashion can rival the stars. Unveiled on the rooftop of the Hôtel Martinez and set to be fully revealed at Chopard’s much-anticipated “Universe” soirée, the 2025 Caroline’s Couture collection is a breathtaking tribute to the cosmosn a poetic dance between Haute Joaillerie and Haute Couture.
Titled as much a dream as it is a collection, Fly Me to the Moon draws inspiration from the celestial wonders of the universe. Each piece reflects Caroline’s fascination with planets, stars, and cosmic crystals rendered in an iridescent palette that spans the mysterious depths of black opal to the luminescent shimmer of aqua silver blue and honeyed chrysoberyl.
The collection dazzles not only in color but in craft. Scheufele called upon the world’s finest artisans to breathe life into this interstellar fantasy. From warp-printed silks crafted using ancient ikat techniques in Lake Como, to airy mousselines and guipure laces from St. Gallen, the garments float like stardust across the skin. The detailing is extraordinary: pleated sequins, hand-stitched crystals, silver beads, and elements drawn directly from Chopard’s most iconic designs, Happy Hearts and Ice Cube, all whispering luxury in every thread.
Hand embroidery remains the collection’s beating heart. Realized in collaboration with India’s Kalhath Institute Foundation, these meticulous creations fuse shimmering night skies with mystical motifs, reimagining the universe as wearable art.
For the modern woman, and man, Caroline’s Couture 2025 doesn’t stop at gowns. Six menswear looks bring the cosmos to classic tailoring, including a reinvention of the tuxedo in jacquard woven with stellar constellations and even a futuristic take in stainless steel fabric, echoing Chopard’s Alpine Eagle watches. And for the first time, the collection takes flight into accessories. A clutch composed entirely of gold-plated metal and hundreds of miniature ice cubes is a feat of artisan mastery, while another, embellished with diamonds and sapphires, blurs the lines between jewel and handbag.
Adding the final astral touch? Collaborations with legendary hat designer Philip Treacy, who envisioned Saturn rings, floating moons, and shooting stars, and Casadei, the Italian shoemaker who dreamt up galactic sandals stitched from couture fabrics.
