Romeo And Juliet Reimagined By Van Cleef & Arpels

Nothing says I love you more than a piece of exquisite jewelry. Yet what if your brand of choice is Van Cleef & Arpels, which also happens to launch a collection named after Romeo and Juliet?

The Van Cleef & Arpels latest high jewelry set encapsulates the iconic story of eternal love by William Shakespeare. It plays on architectural motifs and symbolism; where the balcony scene is sculptured into a delicate brooch, and a rose becomes a signature ring.

The house’s artisans transformed a tragedy into fairytale memorabilia, embellished with the richness of Italian Renaissance, through a very diverse collection.

Another Shakespearian success, not the first time the French jeweler takes the English poet as its muse. “For us, the choice of Romeo and Juliet was a natural one for several reasons. Literature is one of the Maison’s major sources of inspiration, and in 2003 we had already paid tribute to the world of Shakespeare with the A Midsummer Night’s Dream collection,” explained Nicolas Bos, President and CEO of Van Cleef & Arpels.

The Filtro D’amore Ring
A souvenir of eternal love which deifies time and place. Rubies melt into one another, topped by pear-shaped diamonds, and on the thrown, a firm ruby of 3.89 carats.

The Bud of Love Earrings
A Renaissance staple, recreating pendants women hung from their necks with black velvet ribbons. The white diamonds precede the falling of an oval emerald then wrapping it up with a pear-shaped pure diamond.

The Maiolica Necklace
Inspired from the blue Maiolica ceramics from the Italian Renaissance, this double row necklace is made of white diamonds dropping a mesmerizing 42-carats blue sapphire.
