When you are invited to a Kenzo show, you know that you’ll attend a fiesta of fashion, music, movement and all sorts of surprises. And this season didn’t differ when the Parisian maison de la mutualité was transformed into a jungle, the perfect setting for an orchestra and a marching band.
But besides the fun aspect of the show, the collection was very novel and original. Kenzo paid tribute to tribes and subcultures and exploded with colors and motifs for a very optimistic Spring/Summer 2019.
A collection catered for both man and woman. The men series blended sportswear and tailoring and included double-breasted jackets, kimono inspired light coats matched with bright pants and shirts. For women poppy colors like fuchsia, yellow and rose prints were chosen for dresses and bomber jackets.
Accessories were everywhere, with carrier bags and stylish platform heels for her and rubbery sandals and a revisited version of the Kenzo sonic sneaker for him.
