She is Maya Haddad, one of the leading stylists/look consultants in the Middle East region.
We sat down with Maya to chat about her life & career.
AM: First of all, please introduce us to Maya Haddad the image consultant and the person
Maya the person and Maya the look consultant don’t differ much. I am energetic at all times! The person is fun, down to earth and always full of life. These are things that people who came to know me in the past, say about me.
As for Maya the look consultant, her motto is “Nothing is impossible.” She is very optimistic, and knows that regardless of how much things could go wrong, they could be fixed. And this is specifically where most people get to see the very serious side of me. In a nutshell, I am a realistic, positive, positive and positive person!
AM: Briefly tell us how you started off in the fashion industry
It all started when I was very young and my father decided to invest in a little boutique for me. I had a thirst for knowledge about fashion and went on to study about it.
I worked while studying, started so little and grew up in this industry.
AM: Can you explain to our readers the difference between a personal shopper, a stylist and a look consultant?
A personal shopper assists individuals who need advice or suggestions while shopping. A stylist is someone who arranges and coordinates clothes in an attractive manner. However, they both differ from a look consultant who has a bigger responsibility. We offer professional and expert advice on an individual’s appearance from A to Z.
AM: In your opinion why do celebrities need an image consultant?
Professional advice is useful in every area. As for celebrities, they need a look consultant to make them look better and confident. Also, some celebrities might not have a background in fashion, so this is where we come to take action.
AM: What is the happiest moment for a professional working in your métier?
The moment when he/she enjoys the fruits of his/her labor: Success!
AM: So, what is your proudest achievement?
When I found my role in the sector that helped me grow and reach to where I am right now.
AM: What is a career objective you want to achieve?
I want to use my skills in the best way possible to achieve more success in my career, and to become an international image consultant.
